Studies on the in vitro protein binding and antibacterial activity of oxalyl ciprofloxacin bivalent ligand

Abstract
|
|
|
The in vitro activity of oxalyl ciprofloxacin bivalent ligand was compared with that of ciprofloxacin against 23 β-lactamase producing strains and 20 ampicillin /sulbactam resistant clinical isolates.
Compared with ciprofloxacin, oxalyl ciprofloxacin bivalent ligand had an better or similiar activities against all strains except for E. coli 3457E, P. aeruginosa GN918, S. aureus(source : vaginal).
The protein binding of oxalyl ciprofloxacin bivalent ligand was determined by ultracentrifugation and ultrafiltration.
In ultracentrifugation method, the percent of protein binding was respectively 42.02, 37.64, 40.56% in 100, 50, 25 ug/ml concentration.
In ultrafiltration method, the percent of protein binding was respectively 46.60, 37.36, 41.68% in 100, 50, 25 ul/ml concentration.
